A view inside our Hampstead House Project

Take a look inside our Hampstead House, nearby to the chic sophisticated high street, but also nestled within the expanse of greenery that Hampstead offers. An old characterful home that had previously been designed by Kelly Hoppen, the clients wanted to totally transform the look and feel of the interior, whilst also repurposing a number of the rooms for different functions. They still wanted the design to emulate elegance and grandeur with a focus on the styling details and we achieved just that.

So let’s start with the first room as you enter on the ground floor - the ‘TV Room’. This room wasn’t in the initial design plan, but after an unfortunate leak, it needed to be taken back to basics and we started again. The most casual room in the house, it needed to feel inviting and cosy, whilst remaining moody for the perfect movie night showing. The dark joinery and pops of burnt orange was perfect for the function of this space.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST TRANSFORMATION IN THE HAMPSTEAD HOUSE INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT?

Whilst most rooms ended up looking and feeling completely different, there is one room that definitely underwent the largest transformation of all. Following many years of the family having live in help, with four now grown up children, the level of assistance was no longer required. So we went about transforming this room into the dream female dressing room.

New flooring, a change of radiator, bespoke window dressings, bespoke cabinetry and furniture designed by House of Three, this room really did undergo the most spectacular transformation.

We added in a luxuriously sized island that had drawers featuring embossed leather and Armac Martin Handles, as well as a bronze detailing to the top of the island itself. We managed to add a little extra storage into the bench seat, and even included bespoke jewellery inners to the drawers.

With an extensive shoe collection, we designed visible bespoke shoe storage designed to perfectly fit the clients shoe size. We worked really closely together to ensure there was the right storage for boots, wedges and heels, with enough room to still add in a few new pairs along the way.

The bespoke built in joinery had brass inlays perfectly matching the handles as did the full length antiqued mirror made to match. Luxury materials such as dark wood, boucle, linen and velvet all helped to give this room that extra wow factor, and I’m so pleased with how it turned out.

WHAT THE CLIENTS THOUGHT ABOUT THE PROJECT AND WORKING WITH ME

“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with you. We love our house and that is thanks to you”

A large open plan living kitchen/diner is perfect for a larger family. Despite keeping the kitchen units, by replacing the worktop and appliances, the kitchen felt like new. We went for a super dark quartz worktops, but the star of the show here I think is the bespoke dining table and striking pendant.

This space really emulates timeless luxury design that won’t date, and will host to several family dinners over the years.

The property also featured a formal Living Room and Dining Room that are interconnected and perfect for hosting larger dinner parties. We kept the spaces sociable yet impressive. With plenty of space to float around the space, it still feels timeless, elegant and somewhat perfect.

No luxury, elegant family home would be complete without a home office and a home gym. However despite these luxury homes requiring them, you certainly don’t want these spaces to look functional within an otherwise beautiful home. We therefore spent a long time designing both of these spaces, really considering their uses whilst ensuring they looked as pristine as the rest of the home did.

Designing bespoke cabinetry to conceal boilers, water tanks and electrical runs we managed to transform the garage space from a standard garage gym into a luxury gym that you really want to use. Then moving on to the home office, we worked the bespoke cabinetry into the ceilings, adding unique handles and inset embossed leather to the doors. The angled desk with a view out into the room meant that it didn’t feel as though you were simply working from an attic room. I think we hit the brief for luxury function perfectly with these two rooms.

I’d love to know what you think of the Interior Design of our Hampstead Home and if you have a favourite room design.
